CBD Concentrate Effects and General Info

CBD is a term you may have heard thrown around a lot recently, but do you really know what it is? Over the last few years, there has been a significant rise in the number of studies of the effects cannabis has on the human body. Breaking the drug down in order to examine it fully, scientists discovered there are more than 100 active cannabinoids in cannabis, one of which is Cannabidiol, otherwise known as CBD. The following article will take you through the ins and outs of the effects of CBD concentrate and why so many people are using it on a daily basis.

The majority of people that use CBD-based products or hemp oil do so because of its very strong healing capabilities. CBD products and types on the market today include CBD vape oil, CBD e-liquid, CBD hemp oil, CBD tinctures and so on. As well as being used as an effective form of pain relief CBD is also used to help reduce the symptoms of various other medical concerns including anti-inflammatory effects, chronic pain, post-traumatic stress disorder, stress, anxiety disorders, seizures, and cancer, which we’ll cover in more detail shortly. Many people have turned to cannabis to get the effects of CBD. The problem with this is that cannabis has other ingredients in it which may not be as good for you as CBD.

To get around that issue, scientists found a way to extract the CBD directly from marijuana plants. The extracted CBD concentrate is then taken in its raw form and used to concoct a variety of products. Different people get their CBD intake in different ways. While some people prefer to use creams or gels that contain CBD, others prefer to take it in the form of a capsule or by rubbing it directly onto their skin. All of these options have their own advantages and disadvantages and a lot of it simply comes down to personal preference.

  • Pain relief: This is the number one effect of CBD Concentrate. Over the last few years, the effects of CBD have been demonstrated time and time again in various studies carried out around the world. CBD has natural analgesic properties that can disrupt the feelings emitted by pain receptors. Instead, it initiates the release of feel-good compounds such as dopamine and serotonin in the body.
  • Seizure relief: Previous studies carried out have suggested that CBD is also effective at lowering or preventing seizures from happening in those suffering from epilepsy.
  • Cancer prevention: CBD concentrate has been shown to shrink or even eliminate cancerous tumors in some cases. While its anti-mutagenic properties reduce the risk of the user contracting cancer.
  • Anxiety/stress relief: Many people suffer from intense anxiety or stress. Some so much that they have trouble even leaving the home. CBD concentrate has been found to help some of these people as it increases the level of positive neurotransmitters and hormones within the body.
  • Improves skin: Regular use of CBD oil can work wonders on the skin, especially in cases of eczema or acne. Its anti-inflammatory properties help to reduce redness and soothing itching of the skin. The strength of the mix can be adjusted to suit the severity of the condition.
  • Helps with sleep problems: Some patients suffering from sleep conditions such as insomnia or sleeplessness have reported that inhaling just a small amount of CBD oil enables them to have the best night’s sleep they’ve ever had.
  • Reduces inflammation: Various studies have proved CBD concentrate to be effective at reducing inflammation caused by multiple sclerosis, rheumatoid arthritis, and other similar conditions.

In what forms is CBD concentrate available?

Before all the various studies on CBD came about and scientists began extracting it to be used alone, the only way for people to get relief from it was in the form of cannabis. Obviously, there are many downsides to this. For one thing, it’s still illegal in many places, and for another cannabis contains a psychoactive ingredient called tetrahydrocannabinol (THC) that not everyone wants to experience. Thankfully, after years of extensive research, CBD is now available in a number of different legal forms (in most places). Here are some of the most popular forms on the market:

  • Tinctures: This is the purest form of CBD concentrate and involves dropping a couple of drops of CBD oil directly onto your tongue. The benefit of tinctures is that it’s in its strongest form. The downside is that the taste isn’t particularly nice. Dosages vary anywhere from 100–1000 mg so make sure you’ve done your research and are comfortable with the strength you need. If in doubt, start with a lower dose and increase as necessary.
  • Capsules: These are a little easier to digest than tinctures and can easily be taken alongside any other daily vitamins or supplements. Dosages in capsules typically range from 10–25 mg of CBD. Some people prefer capsules over tinctures as it’s easier to monitor the dosage and doesn’t taste quite so bad.
  • Topicals: Many manufacturers have started producing products that have CBD oil in them including various brands of lip balms and hand lotions. CBD topicals have been reported to help with cancer, psoriasis, chronic pain, and inflammation.
  • Sprays: These are typically the weakest of all CBD-based products with concentrations usually between 1–3 mg. They’re great to use for the convenience factor, but very hard to measure the actual dosage.
  • Edibles: Due to anti-inflammatory properties using CBD in food is a great way to get relief from chronic pain conditions. The only real downside is that it can take up to 90 minutes to fully come into effect as edibles need to be digested. But, there’s no horrible flavor and you get to eat a tasty treat to enjoy at the same time. Bonus!

Hopefully, by now, you will feel a lot more clued up as to what CBD concentrate is and some of the wondrous effects it can have on the human body. There are so many different forms of CBD concentrate available that if one way doesn’t work for you, then you can simply try another. Just remember to always read the label and use accordingly.
